We have a highly-flexible ambient-condition scanning tunneling microscope (STM), designed and built in-house, which can operate under a range of environments. This includes air, liquid (aqueous or organic solvent) and under electrochemical conditions. We can also incorporate a heating element allowing temperature control of one of the electrodes to perform thermopower studies.
